Pendants have always been one of the best ways and most popular ways of wearing jade. The jade disc or 'pi' (pronounced bee) was one of the first pendants. A simple jade circle with a hole in the center placed on a chain or fabric cord has been a Chinese favorite for centuries. Representing the sun or heaven and symbolizing eternity, this jade symbol is and will always be one of the most iconic jade designs. A green jadeite jade disc or pi is shown at the top of this catalog page with a gold chain. More recently, these jade disc pendants have become a very popular design on adjustable silk cord necklaces.
The jade disc is also worn with gold findings. Many people love a simple frame or bezel around the disc with a gold bail. The open circle center is also another wonderful spot for more symbolism.
